About me
I am a certified psychotherapist of the European Association for Gestalt Therapy and a graduate of the four-year School for Trainers and Psychotherapists accredited by the European Association for Gestalt Psychotherapy (EAGT) and the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP). Currently, in the process of a four-year specialist training in child and adolescent psychotherapy, organised by the Regeneration Centre and the Psychoeducation Laboratory in Warsaw, recommended by the Polish Psychological Association and the Polish Psychiatric Association.
I have Master degree (MSc) from the Faculty of Psychology at the SWPS University in Warsaw.
Experience
I gained clinical and professional experience at the "Zdroje" Hospital in Szczecin, at the Psychiatric Department, the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw, and the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Centre in Warsaw.
I follow with interest the dynamic changes taking place in the modern world and their impact on our mental health. They necessitate the need for continuous improvement of the skills we already have and the acquisition of new ones. This is why I participate in workshops, seminars, trainings and conferences. This broadens my working methods and also gives me the experience necessary for this profession.
My work is based on the tenets of humanistic psychotherapy, contemporary psychodynamic psychotherapy and the systems approach.
In my work, I attach particular importance to professional ethics. I work under constant supervision of a certified supervisor.
I cooperate with trusted doctors in the field of psychiatry and other specialists whose help would be advisable.
Consultation
The commencement of psychotherapy is preceded by a consultation, during which information is gathered to identify the problem and propose an appropriate form of help. The consultation lasts 60 minutes. Their number varies from 1 to 3 meetings, depending on the complexity of the reported problem.
Child and adolescent psychotherapy
The aim of the child and adolescent therapy is to strengthen personal potential, to develop social and adaptive skills to build healthy relationships. In a safe atmosphere with constant support from the therapist, the child can work on his/her experiences, emotions and seek to understand the causes of his/her behaviour. The area of my work with children and adolescents covers a wide spectrum of disorders, with a particular focus on behavioural and emotional disorders, hyperactivity, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, oppositional defiant disorders, adaptive disorders and eating disorders.
Individual psychotherapy is accompanied by meetings with parents, making it more effective in helping young people to develop and overcome their difficulties. The aim of this collaboration is also to provide support for parents to make positive changes in the home environment. Individual therapy for children and young people takes the form of weekly meetings and lasts 40 minutes. Its length depends on the individual needs and abilities of each patient.
The initiation of individual therapy is preceded by consultation meetings.
Individual psychotherapy for adults
Individual psychotherapy takes place once a week and lasts 50 minutes. It can be short-term or long-term.
Short-term psychotherapy is recommended when a person's functioning is suddenly deteriorating or due to difficult life circumstances. It focuses on specific problems and goals that can be solved in a relatively short period of time. Usually, a timeline for its completion is set during the first meetings with the psychotherapist.
Long-term psychotherapy creates space for self-reflection and is oriented towards a deep and multifaceted understanding of oneself. By recognising unfavourable behavioural patterns, it allows to make profound changes in life.
Undertaking individual short- or long-term therapy is preceded by a consultation meeting.
